The dinner took place at the residence of RJD leader Misa Bharti, who also joined the duo in a cooking session. In the video, Rahul Gandhi is seen learning the art of preparing "Champaran mutton" from Lalu Prasad, showcasing a unique blend of political discussion and culinary exchange.
The conversation between Gandhi and Prasad delved into various aspects of politics, including the issue of "hate being spread." Rahul Gandhi sought Prasad's advice for the next generation of politicians. In response, Lalu Prasad emphasized the importance of following the righteous path set by their parents and grandparents.
Sharing the video on social media, Rahul Gandhi expressed, "Interesting conversation with popular leader, Laluji, on his secret recipe and 'political spice." He further highlighted the vision of "equality, progress, and empowerment" for India as part of the opposition Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance alliance.
Gandhi also quizzed Prasad about his perspective on "political masala," to which Prasad defined it as "struggling and fighting injustice." The conversation extended to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) allegedly spreading hatred. Lalu Prasad commented that such actions by the BJP tend to escalate during challenging economic times.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, who was also present during the dinner, accused the BJP of engaging in propaganda and inciting hatred among the masses.
Rahul Gandhi questioned Prasad about the BJP's intentions, asking if their ultimate goal was to "steal from the poor." Prasad responded, stating that the BJP aims to undermine the livelihoods of the poor and have them under their control.
The leaders also discussed the importance of eliminating hatred and promoting love and unity. They referred to it as "open mohabbat ki dukan," emphasising the need for a more harmonious political landscape.
In a heartwarming gesture, Rahul Gandhi had the Champaran mutton dish packed for his sister, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. The video concludes with Priyanka Gandhi enjoying the delectable dish.
