Want National Anthem To Be Sung Everywhere: MP HM Narottam Mishra Backs UP Govt’s Move

Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for Minority Welfare, Danish Azad, had earlier said the government wanted the students of madrasas to be imbued with the spirit of patriotism.

New Delhi: With the Uttar Pradesh government making it mandatory for all students and teachers in madrasas of the state to sing the National Anthem before commencing classes, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra on Friday said it is an issue to be contemplated and can be implemented in his state as well. “Jana Gana Mana is national anthem. We too want that it should be sung everywhere...It’s an issue to be contemplated, can deliberate over it,” he said, ANI reported.

Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for Minority Welfare, Danish Azad, had earlier said the government wanted the students of madrasas to be imbued with the spirit of patriotism.

“Madarsa education is crucial for minorities. When the national anthem is sung, students would learn society's values. The government is working for the upliftment of Madarsa education. Now Madarsa students study religious scriptures alongside math, science and computer,” he said, ANI reported.

The Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Education Board Council had in its meeting held earlier on March 24 decided to make singing the National Anthem mandatory at madrasas before the start of classes from the new academic session.
