'Voter Cards, Aadhaar Illegally Distributed': Amit Shah Attacks Mamata Over CAA, TMC Replies

Shah attacked the TMC government on the issues of appeasement, infiltration, corruption, and political violence and alleged that Banerjee has "destroyed" the state.

New Delhi: Home Minister Amit Shah, speaking at a rally in Kolkata, said that no one can stop the implementation of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act on Wednesday. He accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of opposing CAA due to her support for infiltration.

Addressing the rally, Shah attacked the TMC government on the issues of appeasement, infiltration, corruption, and political violence and alleged that Banerjee has "destroyed" the state, reported PTI.

A state with so much infiltration cannot develop, Shah asserted.

"Mamata has not been able to stop infiltration. Voter cards and Aadhaar cards are being openly and illegally distributed to infiltrators and she is sitting silent! Mamata Banerjee has only caused deterioration in each and every aspect of Bengal," he said.

Communists and the Mamata Banerjee's government have together ruined the state of Bengal.

Lashing out at the Bengal CM, Shah said that Banerjee has been opposing CAA but it is a law of the country and no one can stop its implementation.

"Assam has done a commendable job in stopping infiltration. But in West Bengal, infiltration persists due to the TMC government's vote-bank politics. Mamata Banerjee is opposing CAA, but let me say it clearly that CAA will be implemented in the country. No one can stop the implementation of CAA," PTI reporting quoting Shah. 

Shah Urges People To Vote For BJP

He urged people to throw out her government by electing the BJP in the next assembly polls in 2026 and asked them to lay its foundation by supporting the party in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

He said, "Give so many seats to the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls that Modiji says I have become PM due to Bengal."

Shah also hit out at Banerjee over the suspension of the Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari in the Bengal Assembly, saying she may try to silence him but cannot silence people of the state.

Urged people to ensure a big win for the BJP in the Lok Sabha polls, Shah said, "We must ensure that the BJP forms the next government in West Bengal. To achieve this, we must win the maximum number of Lok Sabha seats from the state in the next Parliamentary elections," reported PTI.

"When the law was being made, Mamata Banerjee had said that there should not be a hurry regarding CAA. They have a larger number of MPs, so they made the law... Why have the rules under this law not been formed?" she asked.
