Viral Sach: Did Yeddyurappa submit fake educational documents to EC ?

It is claimed in a viral message that Yeddyurappa has provided varying information about his education while filing nominations in different elections.

New Delhi: Just days ahead of Karnataka elections a message has been going viral on social media regarding BJP’s CM candidate BS Yeddyurappa’s educational qualifications. The social media brigade claims that the educational qualification of Yeddyurappa is fishy. As per the claim Yeddyurappa has provided varying information while filing nominations in different elections. The claim is being made based on his affidavit. It is alleged that during 2013 Karnataka assembly elections, he declared himself an arts graduate from Bengaluru university, in the nomination papers. While in the nomination papers filed for 2014 Lok Sabha polls and for the forthcoming Karnataka assembly elections this year, he has declared his educational qualification as 12th pass. The ambiguity has triggered many questions, like how can somebody’s educational qualification dip over years instead of rising. Upon searching on the Election Commission’s website affidavitarchive.nic.in, team Viral Sach found that the claims being made in the message are true. Yeddyurappa’s 2013 affidavit says he is an arts graduate; while that of 2014 says he is intermediate pass. His affidavit for 2018 assembly election also says he is intermediate pass. Therefore Yeddyurappas’s educational degree remains doubtful.
