New Delhi: The history-sheeter and the most-wanted gangster of Uttar Pradesh, Vikas Dubey died of ‘haemorrhage and shock’ due to ante-mortem firearm injuries, his post-mortem report has revealed. Dubey, the main accused in the Kanpur shootout in which 8 cops were killed, was killed in police encounter, the day next to his arrest by police in Ujjain. Also Read | Coronavirus: India Adds Highest-Ever 40.4K New Cases In 24 Hours, Overall Tally Surges Past 11 Lakh-Mark Vikas Dubey the most notorious criminal, managed to dodge the police for a week after perpetrating the ambush and shootout incident of Kanpur, only to be apprehended at Mahakaal temple in Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain on July 9. Later, on July 10, while he was being brought to Kanpur form Ujjain, the vehicle in which he was being taken, reportedly overturned and Dubey tried to flee after snatching the firearm of a policeman. When the police asked Dubey to surrender, he started firing at the police, leading to a gun battle that finally killed the gangster in the cross-firing. The Uttar Pradesh government later formed a one-member judicial commission, under retired judge SK Agarwal, to investigate the encounter after allegations of fake encounter were levelled by the opposition. Opposition claimed that Dubey was killed to protect the identity of his political masters. The commission has been given two months' time to submit its report. Also Watch:
