Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar Discharged From AIIMS-Delhi After 3 Days

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar was discharged from AIIMS-Delhi after making a satisfactory recovery. He was admitted due to cardiac-related ailments.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar was discharged from AIIMS-Delhi on Wednesday after making a satisfactory recovery, the premier hospital said, PTI reported. He has been advised to take adequate rest for the next few days.

The VP was admitted to the hospital in the early hours of Sunday, following cardiac-related ailments.

The 73-year-old was taken to the hospital around 2 AM. He was admitted to the Critical Care Unit (CCU) under Dr Rajiv Narang, Head of Department of Cardiology at AIIMS.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Dhankhar thanked the medical team of the AIIMS. He wrote, "Deeply appreciate the exemplary care and professionalism of the medical team at AIIMS, New Delhi, from my admission on March 9 to discharge on March 12. Their dedication and meticulous attention ensured a smooth recovery." He added, "Grateful for the concern and good wishes from well-wishers across India and beyond. Your thoughtful gestures have been truly heartening."

PM Modi Visited AIIMS To Meet Dhankhar

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the hospital and inquired about Dhankhar's health. In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, "Went to AIIMS and inquired about the health of Vice-President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar Ji. I pray for his good health and speedy recovery."

President Droupadi Murmu spoke with  Dr Sudesh Dhankhar

President Droupadi Murmu also spoke with Dr Sudesh Dhankhar, wife of  Jagdeep Dhankhar on Sunday, and inquired about his health. "The President was glad to learn that he was recovering fast and wished him well," said the Rashtrapati Bhavan in a post on X.

Jagdeep Dhankhar assumed office as the 14th Vice President of India on August 11, 2022. Born on July 18, 1951, in Kalibanga, Rajasthan, he has had a long and distinguished political career. Before becoming Vice President, he served as the Governor of West Bengal and represented Rajasthan’s Jhunjhunu constituency in the 9th Lok Sabha.
