Dense Fog & Icy Winds Have Uttar Pradesh Shivering; Check Weather Details
The weather department has predicted dry weather for Friday, 3 January. Light to moderate fog is expected in some areas during the morning and evening.
UP Weather Update: The biting cold wave that Uttar Pradesh is experiencing severe cold these days. The icy winds coming from the mountainous regions have people shivering. Meanwhile, dense fog has enveloped many districts of the state, including Noida and Ghaziabad, on Friday. Due to this, visibility is also very low. Visibility dropped below 50 metres in several areas in the state on Thursday. The impact of fog is being seen most on traffic. However, the Meteorological Department has not issued any kind of warning for Friday. But the cold wave will continue in the days to come.

"It is very cold and the visibility is very low. It is very difficult to travel on bike," says a local.

The Meteorological Department has forecast that the weather will remain mostly dry on Friday, January 3. During this time, there is a possibility of light to moderate fog in some places during the morning and evening. However, no warning has been issued as of now.
However, the overall temperature is likely to be 1°C-3°C above normal at a few places in East Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat Region, Konkan & Goa, Gangetic West Bengal, Rayalaseema and Kerala and Mahe; at isolated places over Haryana, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Assam, and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Vidarbha, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Several areas of Rajasthan and Punjab also saw various dense fog.

Uttarakhand, too, is experiencing thick fog as well as snowfall in several areas.

Western UP is also likely to see dense fog conditions on Friday.
The effect of the Cold Wave was seen on Friday morning as many districts of UP were covered by a blanket of fog. The weather will remain like this for the next two days. But on January 6, a change in the weather will be seen once again.
Rain Forecast For Several UP Districts
The western disturbance that has become active in Afghanistan is moving towards the Himalayan region, due to which rain may occur in some places in Ghaziabad, Baghpat, Meerut, Hapur, Amroha, Moradabad, Rampur, Bijnor, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli and Saharanpur on January 6.
Due to the rain, the temperature will drop further. Cold day conditions are already prevalent in the plains due to the icy winds. It is expected that the maximum temperature will rise in the next 24 hours, but the relief from cold may be limited.
According to the IMD, the minimum temperature in UP dropped to around 4°C. Thursday was the coldest day in Chur, where the minimum temperature was recorded at 4.6 degrees Celsius. While the minimum temperature in Phursatganj was 4.9, Kanpur Nagar 5.0, Kanpur Dehat, Ballia and Ayodhya 5.5, Etawah 5.6, Varanasi 5.7, Prayagraj 6.4 and Aligarh 6.8 degrees Celsius.
