UP has several problems, not in favour of bifurcation: Yogi's interview
New Delhi: In an interview to a Hindi daily, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has said his focus is on winning 2019 Lok Sabha elections for which he has to execute a lot of impending tasks and issues.
The Hindutva hardliner who has now taken up the motto of PM Modi’s ‘sabka saath sabka vikas’ says his state has umpteen numbers of issues and can only strive to work with a team that can function in a rapid manner. Yogi said that he has been taking swift actions since the time period is very limited in the run-up to Lok Sabha polls.
Speaking to Dainik Jagran, Yogi said that any government official found on duty discriminating against any person on the basis of caste and religion lines will be sent to jail.
Yogi also said he wasn’t in favour of bifurcation of Uttar Pradesh.
Yogi, who took over the reins of the state on March 19, has been on a reviewing spree of the working of various key departments. He has also laid stress on sense of responsibility and accountability among his ministerial colleagues.
He had given a stern message to officials that those who were not prepared to work 18-20 hours a day were free to make way.
In a meeting conducted by him last night, Yogi ordered investigation into the alleged 1180 crore sugar mill scam during BSP chief Mayawati’s governance. On Friday, the income tax department conducted raids at several places which included action against entities and businesses linked to Anand Kumar, brother of Mayawati.
