'UP Govt Got Gold Medal For Lying,' Says Rakesh Tikait; Asks Varun Gandhi To Support Farmers' Protest
UP Farmers Protest: Rakesh Tikait in Pilibhit said the BJP wants to sell the country to traders. He said the UP government has already won a gold medal for lying.
New Delhi: Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait, who arrived at Badapura Gurudwara in Amaria tehsil in Pilibhit to meet farmers, lashed out at the media question over the completion of 4-and-a-half years of the government. He said that the UP government has received a Gold Medal for lying. He further said that the MP Varun Gandhi should come to Pilibhit and sit on dharna with farmers or help farmers to sell their paddy crop.
Rakesh Tikait said the BJP wants to sell the country to traders and it will harm the farmers. He questioned "why they are bothering the farmers'. He said the movement will continue and three black laws will have to be withdrawn. Sugarcane rate has not increased by a single rupee and government is showing payments. Stadiums, playgrounds have been made private.
Earlier on Sunday, Rakesh Tikait had reached Aman Banquet Hall in Bilsanda block area of Pilibhit, where he said in his speech that the government wants to take away the village land from the farmers.
"If you want to save breed and crop, you have to agitate. Everyone should participate in the Delhi movement," the farmer leader said.
Rakesh Tikait also said that the payment for sugarcane has not yet been made to farmers. Paddy procurement has arrived, procurement centres have not been fixed so far. Purchase centres will not open on time. Purchasing centres will open at the behest of the leaders after which there will be no purchase. Farmers will sell crops at a lower price, traders will make hefty profits.
