Vikas Dubey Encounter: Four Policemen Also Injured During Crossfire As UP STF Kills Gangster
Four policemen have also been injured during the encounter of the history-sheeter Vikas Dubey by the STF in the morning today.
New Delhi: The history-sheeter Vikas Dubey was shot dead in an encounter by STF on Friday morning in Kanpur. According to a report by ANI, four policemen have also been injured during the incident.
“Gangster Vikas Dubey has been killed in an encounter with the police today. Four police personnel have also been injured,” said IG Kapur Mohit Aggarwal in the report. He also added that further details will be given separately.

According to reports, Vikas was being brought to Kanpur from Ujjain and had to be produced at the court by 10 am. The vehicle carrying Dubey met with an accident and overturned. The police said that the gangster tried to take advantage of the situation and tried to escape with arms.
SP West Kanpur, Anil Kumar said, "Vehicle carrying Vikas Dubey met with an accident after he tried to escape by snatching a weapon from a cop. A combing operation was done, Vikas was asked to surrender but he opened fire and was shot dead in the crossfire, some cops were also injured."
The gangster was taken to the hospital after he was injured in the encounter. SSP Kanpur Dinesh Kumar said that upon reaching the hospital the doctors had declared him dead. "Encounter is nothing (sic), all we did was in self defence," he said.

Following the Standard Operating Procedure Vikas Dubey's Dead body has been tested for Coronavirus, the results are awaited while the body has been taken for post-mortem.
