UP CM Yogi Adityanath's Chopper Emergency Landed In Varanasi After Hitting A Bird

According to early reports, the chief minister returned to the circuit house. He will now board a government jet and fly to Lucknow.

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, had to make an emergency landing in Varanasi on Sunday when a bird struck his helicopter. The incident happened when the helicopter departed for Lucknow from Varanasi's Reserve Police Lines Ground, news agency PTI reported.

According to early reports, the chief minister returned to the circuit house. He will now board a government jet and fly to Lucknow.

“A bird hit the CM's helicopter after it took off from here (Varanasi) for Lucknow, after which it had to land here,” district magistrate Kaushalraj Sharma said, PTI reported.

On Saturday, the CM visited Varanasi and visited the Kashi Vishwanath temple in addition to inspecting construction projects and law and order. He was departing for Lucknow on Sunday morning after spending the previous night in Varanasi.

Adityanath distributed online rural residential rights documents to 11 lakh households in Lucknow earlier on Saturday as part of the Swamitva programme. Adityanath handed out the documents and made a point of emphasising the creation of an independent state at a gathering held at the Lok Bhawan auditorium.

He stated that by October of next year, almost 2.5 crore residents in UP villages will receive these certificates.

Although 34 lakh individuals have already benefitted from the programme, the CM said that additional people will quickly receive certificates since a drone survey of the land in 1,10,300 revenue villages in the state will be finished by August, according to an official statement.

Adityanath thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for implementing the Rural Residential Records programme nationwide two years ago, saying it will eventually help boost the rural economy and motivate people to become self-sufficient.
