Kansas shooting: Indian Consulate steps in, ensures 'adequate' help
New Delhi: In a shocking incident of hate crime, an Indian immigrant Garmin Engineer Srinivas Kuchibholta was mercilessly shot dead by a white Navy veteran in United States on Thursday (India time). The accused has been identified as 51-year-old Adam Purinton.
According to the reports, the accused yelled racial slurs and shouted “get out of my country!” while shooting the engineer. The accused also wounded deceased’s coworker at Garmin, Alok Madasani. A third man, Ian Grillot was also shot at when he attempted to stop the shooter at Austin’s Bar and Grille in Olanthe, Kansas.

The accused was immediately arrested in Missouri after he told the bartender that he shot at two ‘Midde Eastern’ men and sought a place to hide.
Both the victims were working together at GPS maker Garmin International in Olathe.
MEA Sushama Swaraj on Friday condemned the whole incident and paid her condolences to the victim's family. She said, "I am shocked at the shooting incident in Kansas in which Srinivas Kuchibhotla has been killed. My heartfelt condolences to bereaved family".
Following the deadly shooting in Kansas, the Indian Consulate in Houston has stepped in to ensure the victims' mortal remains are brought back and adequate facilities are provided to Alok Madasani, who was injured.
