UGC India's Twitter Account Hacked & Restored. Third Hacking Of Govt Account In 2 Days

The hacker has also used a cartoonist picture as the profile photo of the University Grants Commission's Twitter account.

The official Twitter account of the University Grants Commission (UGC) was hacked in the early hours of Sunday. Along with changing the display picture and background picture of UGC India's Twitter handle, the hacker made a series of tweets one after the other, tagging hundreds of Twitter users.

The hacker pinned a tweet on the account, which read, "In celebration for the reveal of the Beanz Official Collection, we have opened up an airdrop to all active NFT traders in the community for the next 24 hours! Welcome to the Garden."

The University Grants Commission is the only grant-making agency in the country, that has been entrusted with two responsibilities, which include the responsibility of providing funds and determining and maintaining standards of higher education in the country.

Third Hacking In Two Days

It is noteworthy that it is the third hacking in the past few days. Earlier on Saturday, the Twitter handle of the Meteorological Department was hacked by hackers for more than 2 hours. At the same time, earlier on Friday late night, the Twitter handle of UP CM Yogi Adityanath's office was hacked. It was hacked for about 29 minutes.

During the time Yogi Adityanath's account was hacked, several tweets from the account were deleted. Later the account was taken back under its control by the CM office.
