'If PM Could Stop The Ukraine War...': Uddhav's 'Appeal' To Modi Amid Bangladesh Crisis

Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray stated that leaders should not provoke the patience of people. The incidents in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have conveyed a clear message to those in power.

Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the crisis in Bangladesh, daring him to visit the country and put an end to the attacks on Hindus. He also said if PM Modi could intervene to stop the war in Ukraine, he should also take similar actions in Bangladesh to protect the Hindus there.

Thackeray remarked that the situation in Bangladesh sends a global message that people hold the ultimate power and leaders should not push their patience to the limit.

He stated that leaders should not provoke the patience of people. The incidents in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have conveyed a clear message to those in power.

According to Indian Express, Uddhav met Congress leader Rahul Gandhi at the residence of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Wednesday. During the meeting, they discussed various topics, including the upcoming assembly elections and seat-sharing arrangements.

Dharavi Redevelopment Project

Commenting on the Dharavi Redevelopment project, Uddhav highlighted that NCP(SP) chief Sharad Pawar would not allow anyone to destroy Mumbai. He said after Pawar met Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde, where the Dharavi redevelopment project was believed to have been discussed.

“My stand is clear. Adani is not my enemy, but if anyone comes to destroy Mumbai, I will not allow it… and I don’t think Pawar will allow anyone to destroy Mumbai,” Uddhav said, Indian Express reported.

Shiv Sena (UBT) has been opposing the Dharavi redevelopment project, arguing that it aims to relocate residents of the largest slum in Asia to various locations across Mumbai. “We demand that residents of Dharavi be given homes in Dharavi itself. Also, each home in Dharavi has a small enterprise or a business. The redevelopment project should also address these needs,” Thackeray added.
