TMC MP Nusrat Jahan Admitted To Apollo Hospital In Kolkata, Skips First Day Of Parliament

Ever since her candidature had been announced by the TMC, the Bengali actress was subjected to trolling and hatred on social media for having no political experience or credentials to contest polls.

Kolkata (West Bengal): Bengali actor and Trinamool Congress Lok Sabha member Nusrat Jahan on Monday skipped the first day of the Winter Session of Parliament as she was admitted to a hospital following a respiratory issue. Reports say Jahan was taken to the Apollo Gleneagles hospital here around 9.30 p.m. on Sunday night after she complained of breathing problems. "She is stable and conscious," the sources of IANS said. Sources said the MP from West Bengal's Basirhat constituency is under the treatment of internal medicine specialist Sandip Mandal. "Nusrat has been admitted in hospital due to a respiratory issue. She has a history of asthma," the sources added. "Jahan was admitted to Apollo Hospital in West Bengal's Kolkata on Sunday night due to a respiratory issue. She has a record of asthma in the past as well," Jahan's office said in a statement. Jahan, a greenhorn, won the Basirhat seat by defeating against BJP candidate Sayantan Basu with a huge margin. She had skipped oath-taking for Lok Sabha members on June 17 and 18 owing to her wedding festivities in Turkey. Ever since her candidature had been announced by the TMC, the Bengali actress was subjected to trolling and hatred on social media for having no political experience or credentials to contest polls, reported ANI.
