Earlier this month, ten coaches of the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Jaynagar derailed between Lahavit and Deolali near Nashik in Maharashtra at around 3:10 pm on Sunday, reported news agency ANI.

Relief and medical vans were rushed immediately to the spot, said the Central Railway.

Similarly, in another incident a goods train collided with a halted freight train in Chhattisgarh's Raigarh district, derailing 18 waggons and disrupting traffic on the key Howrah-Mumbai line, according to Railway officials.

According to them, the incident occurred at 4:15 p.m. in the yard of Jamgaon railway station, interrupting rail traffic on the Howrah-Mumbai Up and Down lines, news agency PTI reported.

Both steel-laden trains were on their way to Bilaspur.

The goods train in the yard was preparing to depart when another freight train unexpectedly appeared on the same track and slammed into it. According to a Railway public relations official in Bilaspur, the accident caused 18 waggons from the two trains to fall off the rails.
