'This Terrorist Fulfilling Dreams Of Ambedkar, Bhagat Singh': Kejriwal Responds To Separatist Remarks

New Delhi: The BJP and Congress have accused Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of harbouring pro-separatist sympathies, but he fought back on Saturday, stating, "The person they brand a terrorist has today dedicated 12,430 smart schools to the nation." 

Taking to Twitter, AAP national convenor said, "All these corrupt people have come together in calling me a terrorist. The person they brand a terrorist has today dedicated 12,430 smart classrooms to the nation. Now, the children of officers, judges, rickshaw drivers and workers will sit at the same desk and study. This terrorist is fulfilling the dreams of Baba Sahib Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh."

Earlier, last week, the BJP released a video in which Kumar Vishwas, a former close friend of Arvind Kejriwal who subsequently left the AAP, claimed that Kejriwal aspires to be "either the Chief Minister of Punjab or the Chief Minister of Khalistan."

The Congress has also gotten on board, criticising the AAP National Convenor, who is hoping to sweep power in Punjab – a state now held by the Congress – in this election.

Previously, Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader, urged AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal on Friday to clarify whether the charge levelled against him by former party member Kumar Vishwas is true or false.

Taking to Twitter, Rahul Gandhi said, "Kejriwalji, give a straight answer -- is Kumar Vishwas telling the truth? Yes or no."

Mallikarjun Kharge, the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, has also asked Kejriwal why he is not explaining the accusations levelled against him by Vishwas.

Why is Arvind Kejriwal not answering a simple question? Is what Kumar Vishwas saying true or not?

Instead, Kejriwal is attempting to divert the issue and play the victim card. To compare himself to Bhagat Singh is disgraceful and Kejriwal must immediately apologize for it.

Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party has nominated 114 candidates in Punjab, where it wants to gain power for the first time by promising better education and free energy, among other things. Tomorrow, the people of Punjab will go to the polls to elect 117 members to the Punjab Legislative Assembly. On March 10, votes will be tallied.
