Two Migrant Labourers Shot At By Terrorists In J&K's Anantnag, Second Attack In A Week

The attack comes on the heels of a similar incident last week, where three non-local labourers were shot at by terrorists in Shopian district.

In another attack on non-local labourers in a week, two migrants were injured after they were shot at by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district. The incident happened on Tuesday evening.

Both the injured were taken to a hospital and are being treated. As per news agency ANI, they are now in stable condition. The area where the attack took place has been sealed and police have launched a search operation to nab the terrorists.

"Terrorists fired upon two outside labourers in Anantnag. Both the injured civilians have been shifted to hospital, where they are stated to be stable," the Kashmir Zone Police informed on Twitter.

The attack comes on the heels of a similar incident last week, where three non-local labourers were shot at by terrorists in Shopian district. The injured have been identified as Anwal Thoker, Heeralal and Pantoo.

In a separate incident, four terrorists were killed by security forces in a joint operation in the Sindhara area of Poonch early Tuesday morning, reported ANI citing Indian Army officials. The Army said the successful operation scuttled possible terror strikes in the region.

"Four foreign terrorists were neutralised in a forest area during the ongoing 'operation Trinetra II'. The presence of such heavily-armed terrorists in hinterland is indicative of attempts to destabilise the region, and if not neutralised on time, these terrorists could have carried out major terrorist-initiated incidents in coming days," Commander, 6 Sector Rashtriya Rifles, Brigadier MP Singh told reporters, PTI reported.

On Wednesday morning, security forces foiled an infiltration bid along the LoC in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir, killing two terrorists.  "In a Joint Operation launched by Indian Army and J&K Police, an infiltration bid was foiled today morning by alert troops along LOC in Macchal Sector, Kupwara," Army's Srinagar-based Chinar Corps said in a tweet.
