Telangana: Owaisi says 'Allah will defeat PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi'; Rajnath Singh responds

With poll temperature shooting up in Telangana, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi trained his guns on the BJP and the Congress saying both the parties are going to face defeat in the upcoming elections.

HYDERABAD: With poll temperature shooting up in Telangana, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi trained his guns on the BJP and the Congress saying both the parties are going to face defeat in the upcoming assembly elections. He said his party AIMIM will get the better of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress President Rahul Gandhi as Allah is with him. The Hyderabad MP said: "Keep your moral high. Allah will defeat Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi, and humiliate TDP president Chandrababu Naidu." During his speech, Owaisi also claimed that Telangana is the safest place for Muslims and Dalits in India. Responding to Owaisi's statement, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said the BJP doesn't contest election like this because its politics is based on justice and humanity. "We cannot fight with god of any religion. We do not want to fight like this as we do not believe in politics based on caste or religion. Our politics is based on justice and humanity," Rajnath Singh said. Telangana assembly elections are scheduled to be held on December 7 and the results would be declared on December 11. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday launched a scathing attack on Asaduddin Owaisi in his home turf saying he will have to flee Telangana like the Nizam of Hyderabad if the BJP comes to power in the state. While addressing an election meeting in Owaisi's parliamentary constituency, Adityanath said: "If the BJP comes to power, I assure you Owaisi will have to flee from Telangana the same way Nizam was forced to flee from Hyderabad."
