In Dilawarpur mandal, residents are concerned about their safety following sightings of a leopard in the area. Police and forest officials have issued warnings urging villagers to remain vigilant, as per a report on The New Indian Express.
In a related development, a tiger has been observed moving through the Sirpur T range. The tiger, which is migrating from Maharashtra, was seen in Sirpur T during the day.
The incident comes a day after a leopard was spotted on the Infosys Mysuru campus in Karnataka on December 31. The incident soon prompted the management to provide work from home for employees. The forest department also launched an operation to capture the animal. An official communication from Infosys stated, as per a report on IANS: "Dear Infoscion, a wild animal was spotted on the Mysuru DC campus today. Efforts are in progress, in coordination with the task force, to ensure campus safety."
A team of 50 forest department officials, including experts trained in tranquilizing wild animals, was deployed for the operation. Nets and cages were strategically placed on the campus to facilitate the safe capture of the animal. Even earlier, a leopard was allegedly spotted at Infosys campus in Mysuru in 2011.
