SVAMITVA Yojana: Scheme For Property Ownership In Rural Areas At National Level Soon, Says PM Modi

"SVAMITVA Yojana, a scheme for the establishment of property ownership, to be implemented at the national level," Modi said.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday interacted with the beneficiaries of the SVAMITVA scheme in Madhya Pradesh through video conferencing.

While launching the scheme, PM Modi observed that this scheme will benefit people in rural areas as they can apply for loans from the bank which will, in turn, facilitate a better living.

"In the initial stage, PM Svamitva scheme was launched in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and Karnataka in some villages. In these states, property cards have been made for 22 lakh families," PM Modi said.

"SVAMITVA Yojana, a scheme for the establishment of property ownership, to be implemented at the national level," Modi said.

Hinting at the benefits of SVAMITVA Yojana, PM Modi said that the property cards will aid in providing a better ecosystem for rural development. "We have done everything in our power to make small farmers self-reliable," PM said.

While appreciating the efforts of the MP state, PM Modi said, "The state of Madhya Pradesh has worked on this scheme at a fast pace and deserves appreciation for it. Today, over 1.70 lakh families of 3000 villages received property card 'Adhikar Abhilekh’ that will bring prosperity."

Prime Minister also distributed e-property cards to 1,71,000 beneficiaries under the SVAMITVA scheme on the occasion.

During the interaction, PM Modi asked the residents about how they felt when the drone was used for surveying the areas. To this, some of the residents replied that they felt it was a mini-helicopter that was used for surveillance.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was also present during the event.

Under the Ministry of Panchayat Raj's SVAMITVA Scheme, the residents of the rural inhabited areas will be provided with property rights. It will create a way for the residents to use the property as a financial asset in order to get loans and other financial benefits like in urban areas. Through the latest surveying drone technology, the scheme will demarcate the inhabited lands in rural areas.

As per the PIB press statement, the scheme has also provided a boost to the ecosystem of drone manufacturing in the country.
