Sushant Rajput Case: SC To Hear Rhea Chakraborty's Plea Seeking Transfer Of FIR From Patna To Mumbai Today

In her plea to the Supreme Court, Rhea has claimed that Sushant Rajput's father has used his “influence” in filing the FIR at Patna and wrongly naming her as an accused in abetment of his son's suicide.

In a significant development in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case which has been taking bizarre twists and turns, the Supreme Court on Wednesday (August 5) will hear a petition filed by Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty who has approached the apex court of the nation seeking transfer of an First Information Report (FIR), from Patna to Mumbai, lodged against her in connection with the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. A bench of Justice Hrishikesh Roy will hear Rhea's plea in the Supreme Court later in the day. Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging in his apartment in Mumbai's Bandra on June 14. Rhea Chakraborthy has been accused of alleged offence of abetment of suicide in an FIR filed by Sushant Singh Rajput's father.. In her plea to the Supreme Court, Rhea has claimed that Sushant Rajput's father has used his “influence” in filing the FIR at Patna and wrongly naming her as an accused in abetment of his son's suicide. “It is pertinent to mention that the deceased and petitioner were in live-in relationship since a year up till June 8, 2020 when the petitioner had temporarily shifted to her own residence in Mumbai,” she has said in her plea. Sushant's father had lodged an FIR on July 25 at Rajiv Nagar police station in Patna against Rhea and six others, accusing them of abetting the actor’s suicide. In addition, both Maharashtra and Bihar governments filed caveats in the SC on Tuesday seeking to be heard before passing any order on Rhea's petition. It is notable that two public interest litigations (PILs) have been filed in the Supreme Court seeking a CBI probe into the death of Bollywood actor on Tueday, a day before the Supreme Court takes up the plea of Rhea Chakraborty seeking transfer of the case registered against her from Mumbai from Patna, by Sushant Singh Rajput's father.
