Situation In J&K Not Out Of Hand, Terrorist Attacks Reduced After Abrogation Of Article 370: CRPF Chief
According to the Director-General, CRPF has neutralised 175 terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir
New Delhi: The Director-General of Central Reserve Police Force, Kuldiep Singh, on Thursday emphasised that the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir is under control.
"It is not as if the situation is out of hand. After the abrogation of Article 370, the incidents of stone-pelting are almost nill. There is a decrease in the infiltration of foreign terrorists and attacks," the CRPF chief said, as quoted by news agency ANI.

According to the Director-General, CRPF has neutralised 175 terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir and apprehended 183 militants from March 1, 2021, to March 16, 2022.
"During the same period, the force neutralised 19 Naxals and apprehended 699 in various operations in Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected states," he informed.
Notably, Kuldiep Singh also stated that under financial assistance from risk fund, ex gratia for personnel who die in action has been increased to Rs 30 lakhs from Rs 20 lakhs. For all other cases, the compensation has been increased to Rs 20 lakhs from Rs 15 lakhs,
The Director-General mentioned that CRPF is providing security cover to 117 protectees of various categories and 32 women personnel have been inducted into the VIP Security Wing.
"A total of 41 VIPs were provided security cover by the CRPF during recently concluded Assembly elections in five states. The security of 27 protectees have been withdrawn post elections," he added.
The CRPF Chief on Wednesday presided over the 'DG parade' ahead of the 83 raising day parade which is scheduled to be attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
