Anti-Sikh riots: BJP censures Rahul Gandhi's comment, addresses Rajiv Gandhi as 'Father of mob lynching'

Taking on Congress, Bagga has placed hoardings in various regions

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janta Party leader Tejinder Pal Singh Bagga resorted to a unique style of defence against Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s statement over 1984 Anti-Sikh riots, where he stated that his party wasn’t a participant in the riots. Taking on Congress, Bagga has placed hoardings in various regions including the centre of the national capital- Cannought place; where Rajiv Gandhi has been addressed as ‘Father of mob lynching’. The poster has been shared by leader’s Twitter handle. What did Rahul Gandhi say on riots? Speaking on 1984 anti-Sikh riots, Congress President Rahul Gandhi called it a very sad tragedy and said that people who have been involved in any sort of violence shall be punished. Thereafter, he refused Congress’ hand in the riots. He said, “He said I don’t have doubts over the same. This was a tragedy and a very sad experience. You say that Congress had a role to play in it, but I don’t agree to this. For sure the violence took place, and for sure was a tragedy. Later, when he was questioned about anti-Sikh riots while he was addressing students at London School of Economics, he said “When Manmohan Singh spoke on the issue; he spoke on behalf of all of us. Like I said before, I was a victim of the violence and I know how this feels.”
