Daughter Would Be Alive If Vasai Cops Helped, Should Be Curbs On 'Mobile Apps': Shraddha's Father Addresses Media

My daughter was brutally murdered. I faced many problems because of the Vasai police, said Shraddha Walkar's father Vikas Walkar.

New Delhi: Slain Shraddha Walkar's father Vikas Valkar blamed Vasai Police of not taking swift action in the murder of her daughter and said that she would have been alive had the Vasai Police helped him. My daughter was brutally murdered. I faced many problems because of the Vasai police, if they would have helped me, my daughter would have been alive," he said adressing the media in a press conference in Mumbai.

He said that the the combined probe by Delhi Police and Vasai Police is "going good". "Still Vasai Police, Nalasopara police showed laxity in the investigation which is unfortunate," he added.

During the press conference, he said that he was against Shraddha's relationship with Aftab and that he was "unaware of the domestic violence she was subjected to by Aftab."

" I feel, his family members knew everything about what he was doing with her," he added.

Vikas said that the last time he had conversation with Shraddha was in 2021 when he talked about her whereabouts and she told that she was in Bengaluru. "I talked to Aaftab on September 26 when I asked him about my daughter, he didn't give an answer on it," he said.

I tried to talk with my daughter but she didn't respond to me in the last two years. I was never told what was happening with my daughter, he added.

Shraddha's father also raised suspicion on Aftab's family of knowing everything and being invloved in their son's act.

"I expect a similar lesson for Aaftab Poonwala in the way he murdered my daughter. Probe should be conducted against Aftab's family members, relatives and all others included in the incident," he said.
