Mumbai: Shiv Sena's firebrand leader Nitin Nandgaonkar is once again in news and of course for wrong reasons! In a recent video that went viral on social media, Nandgaonkar can be seen abusing, threatening and almost hitting a senior doctor who is also the Chief Executive Office (CEO) of Mumbai's famous L.H Hiranandani Hospital located in upscale Powai area. ALSO READ | India To Restart International Flights To US, France From Friday On Interim Basis; Check Details In the viral video, Nandgaonkar along with his fellowmen can be seen creating a ruckus in the hospital for not release the dead body of a Coronavirus patient. The Shiv Sena leader threatened the senior doctor and hospital staff and demanded that the body of a Covid-19 patient which was supposedly a ricksaw driver to be handed over to the family. In the video, it can be heard that Nandgaonkar came to the hospital after allegedly the administration was not releasing the dead body of a Covid-19 victim due to non-clearance of bill which was around Rs 8 lakhs. Even in his post, the Shiv Sena leader accused the hospital of levying exorbitant and unnecessary charges. "The payment of Rs. 1,75,000/- was paid but they were not handing the dead body till the payment of Rs.8,00,000/- was cleared. Which the authorities have told me they will Recover Anyhow... My Only Request is SHOW HUMANITY AND NOT A MY WARNING TO EACH AND EVERY HOSPITAL #BUSINESS MEN...STOP THIS OR I'LL REACH OUT FOR THE JUSTICE OF MY PEOPLE [SIC]," Nandgaonkar captioned the video of the viral spat and shared it on Facebook. This is not for the first time when Nandgaonkar has grabbed headlines for his controversial actions. The Shiv Sena leader who was a former member of Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) is know for his moral policing acts. In February, the Shiv Sena leader was arrested by Mumbai Police for thrashing a man who allegedly molested many women at Matunga railway station. As per reports, Nitin Nandgaonkar took the molester to his office and thrashed him in order to "teach him a lesson" and the video went viral on social media. Defending his act of moral policing and taking law into his own hands, the Shiv Sena leader said that what is did was for the safety of women across the state. Nandgaonkar's videos garner a lot of mixed response with several criticising and many praising him for his act. But what is questionable is the fact that being a leader of the ruling party of Maharashtra, Nandgaonkar must respect law and order and let Police do its duty. Even in case of injustice, law does not allow anyone (not even politicians) to take things in their own hand. If one has an issue with what is happening in society, the person can approach Police and get things sorted abiding the law.
