Sheikh Hasina, Mohamed Muizzu To Tshering Tobgay—List Of Foreign Leaders Attending Modi's Swearing-In Ceremony

Mohamed Muizzu, Sheikh Hasina, and Tshering Tobgay are amongst the list of foreign leaders who will be attending Modi's swearing-in ceremony on Sunday at 7:15 PM.

India has extended an invitation to several leaders from its neighboring countries and from the Indian Ocean region as "distinguished guests" to grace the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister of India for the third consecutive term.

The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled to take place on June 9 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan at 7:15 PM. During the ceremony, the Council of Ministers will also be taking oath of office and secrecy as part of the PM's cabinet.

According to an official statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, the leaders who have accepted the invitation and will be arriving in the national capital for the ceremony on Sunday include President of Maldives Mohamed Muizzu, Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina, and Bhutan PM Tshering Tobgay.

Here's the list of all the foreign leaders who will be attending Modi's oath-taking ceremony on June 9.

The same evening, the leaders will also be attending a Banquet hosted by President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, following the swearing-in ceremony, the statement added.

"The visit of the leaders to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for his third consecutive term is in keeping with the highest priority accorded by India to its ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy and ‘SAGAR’ vision," the statement added.

Delhi Police officials told news agency PTI that the national capital will remain on high alert on Sunday as dignitaries from SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) nations have been invited to attend the swearing-in ceremony.

According to officials, "dignitaries attending the swearing-in will be given designated routes from their hotels to the venue and back."

In view of their visit, hotels in the city including the Leela, Taj, ITC Maurya, Claridges and Oberoi have already been brought under the heavy security cover, the report added.
