'BJP To Offer Narendra Modi As Hindu Hriday Samrat': Shashi Tharoor's 2024 LS Poll Prediction

Tharoor said that the upcoming consecration of the Ram Mandir and the inauguration of the BAPS Temple in Abu Dhabi show that the BJP is set to revert to its core message.

With Lok Sabha elections 2024 just a few months away, Congress Working Committee member and Lok Sabha MP Shashi Tharoor has made a prediction about the Bharatiya Janata Party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that the saffron party is set to offer Narendra Modi to the nation as a Hindu Hriday Samrat. Tharoor's remarks come ahead of the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, which is set to be held next month.

The Congress MP said on Friday that the upcoming consecration of the Ram Mandir and the inauguration of the BAPS Temple in Abu Dhabi show that the Bharatiya Janata Party is set to revert to its core message ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. He further stated that the election dates would be announced shortly after the events.

In a post on social media platform X, Tharoor said, So Prime Minister @NarendraModi will inaugurate the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22nd and the BAPS Hindu Temple in Abu Dhabi on February 14th. I expect elections to be called very soon thereafter." 

"In 2019, with that narrative collapsing in the wake of the disastrous demonetisation, the Pulwama terrorist attack gave Mr. Modi the opportunity to convert the general election into a national security election. In 2024, it is clear the BJP will now revert to its core message and offer Narendra Modi to the nation as a Hindu Hriday Samrat," he further stated.

The Congress leader questioned the saffron party about the 'acche din' promised by the BJP and also cornered PM Modi over promise of jobs and economic growth. 

“All of this begs the question: what happened to achhe din? What happened to 2 crore jobs a year? What happened to economic growth that would benefit the lower rungs of the socio-economic ladder? What happened to putting disposable income into the pockets and bank accounts of every Indian? These questions will have to be debated in an election that is shaping up to be Hindutva versus popular welfare,” the Thiruvananthapuram MP wrote on X.
