Several Airports Shut After India Strikes Terror Camps In Pakistan: Check List

Indian armed forces early Wednesday carried out missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan and PoK, retaliating against Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives. 

Several flights to and from the northern cities in India have been cancelled by various airlines after a few airports, including Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir, shut down its operations in the wake of the missile strikes carried out by India on terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir early Wednesday.

The key airports whose operations have been shut include Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Dharamshala, Amritsar, and Chandigarh. Several airlines have announced the cancellation of all flights to and from cities, including Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh, and Rajkot, until 12 noon today, pending further updates from authorities.

Air India, in a post on X, stated that it has cancelled all its flights to and from Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot till noon.

"Two international flights en route to Amritsar are being diverted to Delhi. We regret the inconvenience caused due to this unforeseen disruption," the airline's post noted.

Due to the prevailing situation, SpiceJet, too, took to X to announce that its flights will be hit as airports in parts of northern India, including Dharamshala (DHM), Leh (IXL), Jammu (IXJ), Srinagar (SXR), and Amritsar (ATQ), are closed until further notice.

"Departures, arrivals, and consequential flights may be impacted," it said in a post on X.

IndiGo also stated on X that due to changing airspace conditions in the region, flights to and from Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh and Dharamshala are impacted. "Update: Flights to/from #Bikaner are also impacted by the current airspace restrictions. We request you to check your flight status before reaching the airport," the latest update shared by the airline read.

Sharing a similar update, Air India Express stated that multiple flights on its network are hit and flights to and from Amritsar, Jammu, Srinagar and Hindon have been cancelled till mid-day due to the ongoing situation.

"Due to the prevailing situation in the region, Srinagar airport has been closed for civil operations. As a result, our flights to and from Srinagar have been cancelled," Akasa Air said in a post on X.
