Sansad TV Launched: PM Modi, VP Naidu, Om Birla Inaugurate New Govt Channel - All You Need To Know
Prime Minister's Office, in an official communique informed that the launch date of Sansad TV coincides with the International Day of Democracy.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla jointly launched the Sansad TV today. The inauguration took place at the Main Committee Room, Parliament House Annexe.
Lok Sabha TV and Rajya Sabha TV have been merged to create a new TV channel which has been named 'Sansad TV'.
Senior Congress leader Karan Singh, Economist Bibek Debroy, NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant, and lawyer Hemant Batra will host separate shows on this new channel.
"Sansad TV is being established as a research channel. The channel will present high-quality content to the national and international audience on issues related to democratic values and institutions of the country", a source close to the development told ABP News.

Parliament Sessions To Be Broadcast
The proceedings of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will be telecast live on Sansad TV during the Parliament Session Meetings. In addition, informative programs will also be aired on the newly merged channel.
Shows To Showcase
Karan Singh will be seen giving information about many religions while Bibek Debroy will host shows reciting the history of the country. Amitabh Kant will conduct programs on India's transformation, while Hemant Batra will share insights on legal issues.
Sanjeev Sanyal, Principal Advisor to the Ministry of Finance, will be seen speaking on the economy through Sansad TV, while noted endocrinology doctor Ambarish Mithal will present programs on health issues.
Ravi Kapoor, a retired IAS officer and former secretary of the Textiles Ministry, has been made the CEO of Sansad TV while Manoj Arora, Joint Secretary, Lok Sabha Secretariat has been appointed as its Special Executive Officer (OSD).
Sansad TV programs will largely be in four categories - functioning of Parliament and democratic institutions, governance and implementation of schemes/policies, history and culture of India, and issues/interests/concerns of contemporary nature.
