The consumer technology industry is changing rapidly, transforming the preferences of Gen Z and Millennial people. It is also known as the digital-first generation, which witnessed smartphones, social media and services in demand, reshaping technical expectations.

This generation seeks personalisation, sustainability and smooth processing of the gadgets they use. Digital marketing techniques attract this generation of customers more compared to traditional marketing methods that are no longer appealing. The purchasing power of Gen Z and Millennials has grown with the transformation of tech brands and innovative apparatus. 

Demand For Customisation And Personalisation 

Gen Z and Millennials adapt to the latest technological innovations according to their preferences. This generation needs a personal touch while using any kind of tech product that reflects their personality and style. The consumer tech industry is now focusing on customisation options like smart home setups or tailored subscription services. This helps consumer tech brands to stand out in the competitive market. 

Consumer tech brands are leveraging large-scale branding opportunities like the Indian Premier League (IPL), which appeals the Gen Z and Millennials. Cricket is a prominent sport in India, and the Indian Premier League (IPL) has become a great place for tech companies to advertise their products with sponsorships, team partnerships, and engaging digital campaigns.

Using match experience and effective communication, interactive content on social networks, and collaboration with influential people, can make a remarkable impression on the brands thriving to attract the younger audiences. Consumer tech companies increase visibility among Gen Z customers by linking cricket to create emotional appeal with them.

Preference For Smart And Innovative Devices 

Gen Z and Millennials grew up with Internet comfort and smartphones, which are easily accessible and connected to technology. With an increase in innovation, this generation prefers intellectual gadgets, which gently integrate into a technical lifestyle.

From wearable fitness trackers to AI-powered gadgets, they are used for comfort and automated convenience in everyday chores. The recent demand for smart homes, IoT devices and automated cars is the smooth integration of technology into basic living styles. 

Ethics About Sustainability 

In contrast to previous generations, Millennials and Generation Z prioritise eco-friendly tech products to promote sustainability. 

Apple and Fairphone are the biggest examples in terms of promoting sustainability as they offer refurbished products and craft recycling devices. This has created a remarkable impression among this younger generation, waving towards the trend. 

Influence Of Social Media 

Traditional advertising methods are no longer appealing to young consumers as they are highly active on digital media platforms. Platforms like Instagram, YouTube and Facebook tend to appear in the social networks of Gen Z and Millennials, they use these mediums to purchase. 

This generation is highly leaning towards the influencer review that constitutes purchasing decisions and recommendations. This factor transforms and launches consumer technology brands through authentic digital content and influential marketing. For example, unpacking videos of the latest technological products, authentic critiques, and social media promotions can have more impact than traditional marketing strategies.
