'Sanatan Dharma Doesn't Need Anyone's Support For Survival': Congress Hits Back After PM Modi's Dig At I.N.D.I.A

He said that Sanatana Dharma has survived for more than 3,500 years and it does not require anybody's support for survival.

New Delhi: Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge on Thursday reacted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remarks that opposition I.N.D.I.A bloc posed a threat to 'Sanatana Dharma.'

He said that Sanatana Dharma has survived for more than 3,500 years and it does not require anybody's support for survival.

Speaking to ANI, Kharge said, "PM Modi is free to say whatever he wants to but there are more pressing issues that he should concentrate on. People are accusing him of rigging the economic growth of the country...Sanatana Dharma has survived for more than 3500 years & will survive for another 3,500 years. It does not require anybody to support it."

His statement came after PM Modi earlier in the day in a scathing attack on the newly formed Opposition alliance said that the bloc has come with a resolution to end 'Sanatan' culture.

"This INDI alliance doesn't have a leader...they have also decided on a hidden agenda to attack India's culture. The INDI alliance has come with a resolution to end Sanatan culture," PM Modi said while addressing an event in Madhya Pradesh.

"The people of this INDIA alliance want to erase that 'Sanatana Dharma' which gave inspiration to Swami Vivekananda and Lokmanya Tilak...This INDIA alliance wants to destroy 'Sanatana Dharma'. Today they have openly started targeting Sanatana, tomorrow they will increase the attacks on us. All 'Sanatanis' across the country and the people who love our country will have to be alert. We will have to stop such people," he added.

PM Modi's comments are believed to be his reply to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin's son Udhayanidhi's remarks equating Sanatana Dharma with "dengue, malaria, fever, and corona."
