Rooh Afza back in retail stores across country: Hamdard

Amid reports of an acute shortage of Rooh Afza in India, its maker Hamdard Laboratories (India) on Thursday said that the summer refreshment syrup is now available in the market and can be bought from major retail stores and grocery outlets across the country.

NEW DELHI: Amid reports of an acute shortage of Rooh Afza in India, its maker Hamdard Laboratories (India) on Thursday said that the summer refreshment syrup is now available in the market and can be bought from major retail stores and grocery outlets across the country. Due to Ramzan and peak summer season coinciding, there has been an unprecedented demand in the market, Hamdard said in a statement. "Full capacity production and a well-planned distribution infrastructure are ensuring it is reaching all corners of the country," the company said. The statement, however, noted that the company was facing supply constraints of certain herbal ingredients which were not available due to a temporary shortage. The company further urged discerning consumers not to be misled by incorrect information being circulated online and in print about non-availability of RoohAfza. “We at Hamdard continue our long tradition of providing health and wellness to our customers. The organization has built trust over a century of producing quality products and we are grateful for that trust," Hammad Ahmed, Chief Mutawalli at Hamdard Laboratories India, said. "Our successes are mediocre compared to the confidence of our customers. As always, we strive to maintain and grow the relationships we have fostered with them," Ahmed said. Earlier reports said that there is acute shortage of Rooh Afza in the country during the Muslim holy month of Ramzan, following which its Hamdard Pakistan countepart offered to supply Rooh Afza in India through the Wagah border. Muslims around the world on Monday marked the start of the holy month of Ramadan or Ramazan, a time marked by intense prayer, dawn-to-dusk fasting and voluntary charity.
