According to the reports, the advertisement on the OLX website showed a picture of the MiG-23BN fighter aircraft along with a three-word description which read 'best fighter plane'. Its sale price was mentioned as Rs 9.99 crore. As soon as the information started spreading on the social media, the advertisement post was taken down from the website.
It is suspected that the post has been put up some present or former student or university member. The officials have said that it would take legal action against the people who created fake advertisement on OLX.
Though a probe has been ordered to find out the people behind the advertisement, the university authorities have alleged that the post on the website is fake and is an attempt to defame the institution.
Speaking to the news agency ANI, the AMU Proctor Mohd Wasim Ali said, "The post on OLX about the sale of aircraft installed in the campus is wrong. University has not taken any step to auction or sell it. We are looking into the matter. It's an attempt to defame the university."
