Record-Breaking Foreign Investment Is Happening In India Today: Rajnath Singh in Lucknow

Speaking at Holi Milan ceremony in Lucknow, Rajnath Singh said that record-breaking foreign investment is happening in India today.

New Delhi: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said that record-breaking foreign investment is happening in India today. Speaking at Holi Milan ceremony in Lucknow, Singh also said that because of the reforms in banking, banks in India are strong as compared to America and Europe where banks are faltering. 

"Today record-breaking foreign investment is happening in India. You must have read in the newspaper that Apple's new factory is coming up in Karnataka. Earlier Apple used to do this work in China, now it will do it in India," Rajnath Singh said as quoted by ANI. He further said, "It is the result of reforms in banking that where the banks of developed countries of America and Europe are faltering, the banks of India are very strong." 

Speaking on the investments coming in Uttar Pradesh, Rajnath Singh said that the UP government has received investment proposals of about Rs 35 lakh crore from the Global Investors Summit. "Today, there is talk of many investments coming in Uttar Pradesh everywhere. We know the UP government has received investment proposals of about Rs 35 lakh crore from the Global Investors Summit," Rajnath Singh said as quoted by ANI.

Commenting on the crisis prevailing in Pakistan and Sri Lanka, Rajnath Singh said that there is no need to tell what kind of crisis these countries are facing. "There is no need to tell what kind of crisis both Pakistan and Sri Lanka are facing. Nowadays even in Pakistan, there is such talk that we should also have a Prime Minister like Modiji," Rajnath Singh said.

During his address, Rajnath Singh slammed Rahul Gandhi for his remarks on Indian democracy stating that some people are trying to hurt India's reputation. "A person who went abroad asked the people from Europe and America that why are you sitting quietly when India's democracy is in danger. It hurts when our country is progressing and India's reputation is on the rise in the world and some people are trying to hurt India's reputation," he said.

During the event, Rajnath Singh assured the members of the Lucknow Vyapari Mandal association that he would listen and try to resolve the problems of local businessmen. "Once the parliament session gets over I request you to come to me. I will try to arrange a meeting of your delegation with the Finance Minister or Commerce Minister," he said, as quoted by ANI.
