RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das Tests Covid-19 Positive; Says 'Will Continue To Work From Isolation'

"I have tested COVID-19 positive. Asymptomatic. Feeling very much alright," RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das tweeted.

New Delhi: RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das has tested positive for Covid-19. He is asymptomatic and will continue to work from isolation, he announced in a tweet on Sunday evening. He said he is feeling alright and has also alerted those who came into his contact. Das said that he will continue his work from isolation and the work at Reserve Bank of India will go on normally. Feeling very much alright. Have alerted those who came in contact in recent days. Will continue to work from isolation. Work in RBI will go on normally. I am in touch with all Dy. Govs and other officers through VC and telephone," he said in a tweet. So far, 6,68,154 people in India are active covid-19 patients, as per Health Ministry's update in the morning. A decrease of 12,526 has been seen in the last 24 hours. The Health Ministry said that with a spike of 50,129 Covid-19 cases and 578 deaths in the last 24 hours, India's overall infection tally and the death toll increased to 78,64,811 and 1,18,534, respectively. The recovery rate stands at 90 per cent, the fatality rate is 1.51 per cent.
