Ramayana Yatra: IRCTC's First Ramayana Circuit Train Departs From Delhi

First Ramayana Circuit Train: The country's first Ramayana Circuit train has departed from Delhi's Safdarjung railway station. This special train will travel via Ayodhya to Chitrakoot.

IRCTC Ramayana Yatra Train: IRCTC has launched 'Shri Ramayana Yatra ' which will travel the pilgrimage sites associated with the life of Lord Rama. On 7 November, the country’s first Ramayana Circuit Train departed from Delhi’s Safdarjung railway station. This train is an innovative effort of Indian Railways, which will take passengers, for the next 17 days, to all the prominent places associated with the life of Lord Rama like Ayodhya, Sitamarhi and Chitrakoot etc.

The first stop of the yatra will be Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram. The train will then go to Sitamarhi, where passengers will visit the birthplace of Janki and Ram Janaki Temple at Janakpur in Nepal. The next stop of the train will be Kashi, from where passengers via tourist buses will visit famous temples of Kashi, including Sita Samahit Sthal, Prayag, Shringverpur and Chitrakoot.

Train to run from Ayodhya to Rameshwaram

To improve the situation related to Covid-19, this train will help in promoting religious tourism and resuming domestic tourism through railways. Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) said on Saturday that this journey has started on November 7. A statement said, ‘‘The first Ramayana Circuit train left New Delhi on November 7. After this, 4 other trains will also depart.’’

Because of South India's religious tourism market, IRCTC will operate Shri Ramayana Yatra Express -Madurai. The train will start from Madurai and will cover Hampi, Nashik, Chitrakoot, Allahabad, and Varanasi. The train will then return to Madurai. This train will leave on 16 November. Another train, Shri Ramayana Yatra Express-Sri Ganganagar, will depart on 25 November.
