Ram Temple Groundbreaking Ceremony On August 5, PM Modi To Reach Ayodhya For Ritual | Key Points

Ram Temple Foundation Stone Ceremony: Putting an end to the wait of devotees across country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation of the much-awaited Ram Temple in Ayodhya and will perform the Bhoomi Pujan on August 5, sources have confirmed. PM Modi will travel to Ayodhya and will lead the ground-breaking ceremony, on the invite of the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerath Kshetra Trust, starting off the construction work for the temple. This will also be the first ever visit of PM to Ayodhya and the Ram temple area.
The trust had proposed two dates to the Prime Minister for the Bhoomi Pujan ceremony - either August 3 or August 5. The two dates were proposed based on calculations of movements of stars and planets.
An official announcement on the date of ground-breaking ceremony is yet to be announced by the Trust.
Here are key points to know about the ceremony:
- Bhoomi Pujan will be done at the Garbh Griha by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 5.
- As per sources, the puja will take place between 11:00 am to 1:10 pm.
- PM Modi will undertake visit to Ayodhya amid Coronavirus spread for the ritual.
- This will be Prime Minister's first visit to the holy city.
- The Bhoomi Pujan, where the foundation stone will be laid to the temple, will mark the formal beginning of the construction of the grand temple and the invites have been sent out for the same.
- Besides Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, members of the trust, few Ministers and MPs of the region are likely to be present on the occasion.
- The Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat is also expected to attend the event.
- The construction of the Ram temple was stopped in March due to the nationwide lockdown imposed by the government to curb the spread of coronavirus.
