Ram Temple Inauguration Highlights: Please follow this space for all the news and latest updates pertaining to the inauguration of the Ram Temple. Ram Lalla's idol was brought inside the sanctum sanctorum of the temple on Wednesday night after a special puja Shri Ram Mandir Construction Committee chairperson Nripendra Mishra said, reported PTI.

Mishra said the idol was likely to be installed in the sanctum sanctorum on Thursday.

Consecration rituals in the build-up to the inauguration of the Ram Temple started on January 16. On Wednesday, a 'Kalash Pujan' was held earlier on Wednesday, reported PTI.

The rituals will continue till January 21 and minimum essential rituals needed for the 'Pran Pratishtha' of the idol of Ram Lalla will be conducted on January 22, as per the trust officials.

On January 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the main "yajman" at the consecration ceremony, the main priest for the ritual, Laxmikant Dixit said on Wednesday.

He also refuted reports that the yajman on the consecration day will temple trust member Anil Mishra, who is performing rituals with his wife in the run-up to the main event, reported PTI.

While the preparations are in full swing for the consecration and inauguration ceremony, political discourse around the event is also building up.

On Wednesday, three leaders of the Opposition's I.N.D.I.A bloc said that they would skip the January 22 event. Nationalist Congress Party cheif Sharad Pawar said he will take out time freely after the inauguration ceremony to visit the temple. Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav also said that he would not attend the ceremony.

Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal also said that he would visit the temple after Janaury 22.

"I got a letter that said only one person was allowed (for the ceremony) due to security reasons. They said a team will come to give a personal invitation but no one came." "I want to visit for a darshan of Ram Lalla along with my wife and children. My parents are also longing for a darshan of Ram Lalla. I will go after the January 22 ceremony along with my wife, children and parents," Kejriwal said.
