‘Will Witness This Historic Occasion’: PM Modi Invited To Ayodhya Ram Temple Consecration Ceremony

The invitation was confirmed during a meeting between General Secretary of the Sri Ram Janmbhoomi Trust, Champat Rai, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday.

The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Trust has officially extended an invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to participate in the installation of the Lord Ram idol in Ayodhya on January 22, 2024. The invitation was confirmed during a meeting between General Secretary of the Sri Ram Janmbhoomi Trust, Champat Rai, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi expressed his gratitude, saying, "Jai Siya Ram! Today is a day full of emotions. Recently, the officials of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust came to meet me at my residence. They have invited me to come to Ayodhya on the occasion of the consecration of the Shri Ram Temple. I feel very blessed. It is my good fortune that in my lifetime, I will witness this historic occasion".

This development comes on the heels of PM Modi leading the Dussehra celebrations in the national capital, where he shared a vision for India's journey towards its 100 years of Independence. During his address at the Ramlila Maidan in Dwarka, PM Modi laid out ten resolutions for a "developed, self-reliant India".

These resolutions encompassed various facets of national development, including saving water, promoting digital transactions, maintaining cleanliness in local areas, advocating for locally made products, prioritizing quality work, exploring the diversity of India before foreign travel, endorsing natural farming, incorporating millets into diets, emphasizing physical fitness, and contributing to the betterment of at least one underprivileged family.

PM Modi stated, "Vijayadashami is a festival of victory of justice over injustice, of humility over arrogance and patience over anger. It is also a day of renewing pledges".

He also emphasised the importance of remaining vigilant and striving for progress as India celebrates its 75 years of Independence. PM Modi advocated for the burning of symbolic effigies as a means of eliminating divisive forces that seek to fragment society based on caste and regionalism.

The Prime Minister's address was delivered to a substantial and engaged audience on a pleasant Tuesday evening at Ramlila Maidan in Dwarka. The event marked the culmination of Dussehra celebrations, underscoring the importance of unity and social progress in the country's journey towards its centennial of Independence.
