Raju Srivastava's Health Condition Stable Days After Heart Attack, Family Urges Fans To Ignore Rumours

According to reports, Srivastava was admitted to AIIMS Delhi on August 10th after experiencing chest pain and collapsing while working out at the gym.

New Delhi: Popular comedian Raju Srivastava, who was on Wednesday admitted to AIIMS Delhi following a heart attack, is stable, said a statement from his family on Friday.

According to reports, Srivastava was admitted to AIIMS Delhi on August 10th after experiencing chest pain and collapsing while working out at the gym.

He had to undergo an angioplasty later, as per reports.  

The statement issued by the comedian’s family read, “Raju Srivastava Ji’s condition is stable. We are praying for his speedy recovery. The doctors are treating him and are doing their best. Thanks to all the well-wishers for all their continued love and support. Please ignore any rumour/fake news being circulated. Please pray for him.”

According to reports, he was brought to the AIIMS emergency at around 10:45 am on Wednesday.

"Srivastava had to be resuscitated thrice. He was rushed to catheterisation lab and underwent angioplasty. He has been admitted to the coronary care unit (CCU)," the source told PTI. 

"He was doing his routine exercise and while he was on the treadmill, he suddenly fell down. He suffered a heart attack and was immediately taken to the AIIMS hospital," he had told PTI, adding that the actor-comedian's wife Shikha Srivastava had reached Delhi. 

He has been in the capital since August 1. He had gone from Mumbai to Udaipur on July 29. After performing there on July 30, he returned to Delhi to meet his two brothers and friends.   

On the work front, Raju Srivastav has carved a niche for himself in the world of stand-up comedy with his well-timed jokes and comic takes on some very relevant situations in life. He rose to fame with the first of its kind stand-up comedy talent hunt show 'The Great Indian Laughter Challenge', with its first season premiering in the year 2005 

He has appeared in Hindi films such as "Maine Pyar Kiya", "Baazigar", "Bombay to Goa" (remake) and "Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiya". He was one of the contestants on "Bigg Boss" season three.
