New Delhi: One person has been arrested after large quantities of explosives were found in Rajasthan’s Dausa district ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit on February 12.

Taking stock of the security preparations ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit, Dausa Police arrested the accused who was allegedly transporting the explosives near Khan Bhankari Road in the district.

According to reports, police have seized approx 1000 kg of explosives, including 65 detonators, and 40 boxes with 360 gelatin sticks which are used for blasting. One gelatin stick weighs around 2.78kg.

The arrested person has been identified as Rajesh Meena, a resident of Vyas Mohalla. The vehicle in which the explosives were being transported has also been seized.

Keeping in view the scheduled visit of the Prime Minister, police received a tip-off based on which the vehicle was intercepted, officials said.

He has been booked under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Explosive Substances Act, police said, adding further investigation on the matter is underway.
