Rajasthan Congress Crisis Not Going To Affect Bharat Jodo Yatra: Rahul Gandhi

Addressing a press conference in Indore Rahul Gandhi said, that Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilots, both are Congress' asset and the issue is not going to affect the Bharat Jodo Yatra. 

New Delhi: Congress MP and senior leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday said that the conflict between Rajasthan Chief Minster Ashok Gehlot and party leader Sachin Pilot is not going to affect the Bharat Jodo Yatra. Addressing a press conference in Madhya Pradesh's Indore where his Bharat Jodo Yatra is currently at, the Wayanad MP said, "Both the leaders are Congress' asset and the issue is not going to affect the Yatra." 

On being asked whether the Yatra should have been taken earlier, Rahul said that he had planned for it a year ago but could not execute due to the pandemic. "It is the best time" for the yatra, he said. 

He said that the Bharat Jodo Yatra has been raising the voice of the nation becuase it is important to hear it. "Running India is a dynamic process where you have to listen to the voice of the people of the country." "BJP and RSS are not listening to the voice of India and are running the country with rigid process," he added.

Targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Rahul said that there is "blatant privatisation in the country where schools, colleges and hospitals are being privatised. Whereas we want that education and healthcare should be responsibility of the government and not the businessmen." 

Responding to the question of personal attacks on him by the BJP, the Congress leader said, "BJP's problem is that they spend crores of Rupees on spoiling my image, creating a certain image of me. But its beneficial for me because I know the truth which cannot be hidden."

"Personal attacks are made because a person takes a political stance. If you are fighting against big power, personal attacks will come which imply that I am on the right path," he added. 

On being asked about whether he would contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Amethi, the Congress MP said that the answer to the question may come in next one to one and a half year, "at present, my focus is Bharat Jodo Yatra".
