Ten Things To Know If You Are Booking Your Online Railway Ticket Today
Railway ticket booking details: The Railways will start passenger train services from May 12 and the bookings will begin from today at 4 PM. Here are some things to remember if you are planning to travel.
Railway ticket booking details: After about two months of the lockdown, the Indian railways are planning to start train bookings and restart passenger train operations from 12th May. According to a new order, train services will begin with initially with 15 pairs of trains (30 return journeys) and these trains will be run as special trains. Booking of tickets will start from today.
Here are things to keep in mind if you are planning on traveling
- Booking will begin from 4 PM today, 11 May 2020
- There are 15 pairs of trains which are available right now. These are: New Delhi connecting Dibrugarh, Agartala, Howrah, Patna, Bilaspur, Ranchi, Bhubaneswar, Secunderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram, Madgaon, Mumbai Central, Ahmedabad and Jammu Tawi
- Booking will only be done through the official website https://www.irctc.co.in/. No tickets including platform tickets will be sold through counters in railway stations and counters will remain closed.
- There will be no Tatkal bookings
- Only passengers with a valid, confirmed tickets will be allowed to enter railway stations.
- It is mandatory for passengers to wear protective gear such as a face mask. They will also have to undergo screening at departure and only asymptomatic passengers will be allowed to board the train
- All the coaches on the train will be all AC coaches the fare will be equivalent to the Rajdhani Express train. To maintain social distancing a limited number of passengers will be allowed
- In AC three-tier coaches-52 passengers will be allowed
- In AC two-tier coaches- 48 passengers will be allowed
- The trains will run with limited stoppage
- According to a PTI report, no blankets or linen will be provided. Special norms for air conditioning will be followed inside the train and the temperatures will be set higher than usual. The maximum supply of only fresh air will be ensured.
- The Railways shall start more special services on new routes, based on the available coaches after reserving 20,000 coaches for COVID-19 care centres and an adequate number of coaches being reserved to enable operation of up to 300 trains every day as “Shramik Special” for stranded migrants.
