Rahul Gandhi To Speak On No-Confidence Motion On Thursday, Same Day As PM Modi
Rahul Gandhi will be speaking on the same day as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is scheduled to reply to the House on August 10
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is set to engage in the debate from the opposition bench during the Lok Sabha's discussion on the no-confidence motion against the government on Thursday. According to sources, he will be speaking on the same day as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is scheduled to reply to the House on August 10. Amidst speculations and numerous reports surrounding Gandhi leading the opposition debate on the no-confidence motion, Congress MP from Assam, Gaurav Gogoi, initiated the discourse in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
The commencement of Gogoi's debate for the Opposition triggered an uproar from the treasury benches in the Lok Sabha. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi wondered why Rahul Gandhi's name as lead speaker was withdrawn last minute. When Gaurav Gogoi, the Assam MP, began his remarks on the motion, Joshi remarked, "What happened? We are interested in listening to him."

Gogoi, during the debate, said the opposition bloc INDIA was forced to bring the no-confidence motion against the government to break Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "vow of silence" on Manipur.
Ahead of the no-confidence motion debate in the lower house of Parliament, PM Modi told BJP leaders that the opposition is testing the confidence of its own alliance members. In his address during the BJP parliamentary meeting on Tuesday, he described the opposition alliance as 'ghamandia' (marked by arrogance) and congratulated the party's Rajya Sabha members for the "semi-final" win in voting on the Delhi services bill.
Meanwhile, sources in Lok Sabha secretariat suggest that even on Thursday a 3 to 4-hour debate on the no-confidence motion will be held in the Lok Sabha, culminating with the Prime Minister's address. Consequently, PM Modi is expected to deliver his statement around 3-4 pm on Thursday.
