'Rahul Gandhi Should First Learn About The Country': BJP Slams Cong Leader Over His Speech In Raipur

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) slammed the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday for his statement at the party's 85th Plenary Session in Raipur where he said, "he learnt a lot from the yatra".

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national spokesperson Sambit Patra said on Sunday that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi should not be concerned about the country. Attacking the party's national president, he went on to say that while Kharge is the president, the entire plenary session appears to be led by the Gandhi family. "Rahul Gandhi realised his responsibilities after 52 years. He should first learn about the country," he added further.

"After 52 years Rahul Gandhi realised his responsibilities. Though Kharge is president but whole Plenary session seems to be headed by Gandhi family. India is a bright spot & Rahul Gandhi shouldn't worry about the country. He should first learn about the country": said Sambit Patra, speaking to the news agency ANI.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said, "52 years passed and I still don’t have a home, but when I reached Kashmir, it felt like home."

"I learned a lot on the Bharat Jodo Yatra. From Kanyakumari to Kashmir, I walked for my nation. During the yatra, thousands of people interacted with me and other party leaders. "I listened to all of the farmers' difficulties and felt their anguish," Rahul, an MP from Kerala's Wayanad constituency, said on Sunday during the party's 85th Plenary Session in Raipur.

The BJP Spokesperson added: "AAP today used the very unfortunate word "mar ja Modi". What they are trying to show? Is it to hide your (AAP) corruption? Earlier Congress also used bad words for our PM, this is really unfortunate."

Earlier in the day, the BJP national spokesperson slammed the Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia for holding a road show before appearing in the suspected excise policy fraud probe at the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) headquarters in Delhi. Patra characterised Sisodia's show of strength as "event management," saying that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is "hiding" the truth.

Sisodia, who is also the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, led a roadshow with sloganeering and placards waving on his route to the CBI office in grand style.

Soon after Sisodia reached for questioning at the central agency office, the AAP MLA Atishi addressed a press conference on behalf of the party and attacked Sambit Patra for his remarks, and called out the Narendra Modi government for fearing "the rise of AAP". "It's been a year...they (BJP) have fielded 500 officers in support of us... prepared a 10,000-page charge sheet....they should also learn some management....at least prove any corruption amounting to even 1...," Atishi said, adding that no claim against Sisodia has been proved.

The Delhi minister is currently testifying before the CBI in connection with the suspected excise scam. While leaving his house, Sisodia tweeted that he had the blessings of crores of Indians and would not mind spending a few months in jail. The AAP including its national convenor and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal have stated that CBI is likely to arrest Sisodia in the ongoing investigation today.
