'Hawa Nikal Gayi Unki': Rahul Gandhi Mocks BJP MPs For 'Running Away' During Parliament Security Breach
Rahul Gandhi linked the Parliament security lapse with unemployment and asserted that the protesters wanted to raise this issue.
New Delhi: Taking a swipe at the BJP MPs over the Parliament security breach, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said those who call themselves patriotic fled when the intruders entered the Lok Sabha. Addressing a gathering at Jantar Mantar during a protest over the suspension of fellow Opposition MPs from the Parliament, Rahul Gandhi said, “Those who call themselves patriotic, hawa nikal gayi unki.”
“A few days back, 2-3 persons jumped down from the visitors’ gallery in the Lok Sabha. They entered the Parliament building and as soon as they released some smoke from the canisters, all the BJP MPs ran away. They call themselves patriots but we saw how afraid they were,” Rahul Gandhi said on Friday.

“My first question is, how did these people come inside? They carried gas cylinders inside the Parliament. If they could bring that then they could have brought something else too,” the Congress leader said.
Further taking potshots at the Centre, Rahul Gandhi pointed out that the second most important question is “why did they (accused) stage a protest?”
He linked the security lapse with unemployment and asserted that the protesters wanted to raise this issue.
Citing a survey, the Congress leader noted that the youth spend approximately 7.5 hours surfing social media on their mobile phones, which he said was due to unemployment.
Notably, leaders of the Opposition I.N.D.I.A bloc staged a protest under the banner ‘Save Democracy’ at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on Friday. Senior leaders, including NCP veteran Sharad Pawar, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, CPI-M's Sitaram Yechury, and others, were present at the protest against the mass suspension of 146 Opposition MPs from Parliament's Winter Session.
