Rahul Gandhi attacks Narendra Modi over Hindutva; Asks what kind of Hindu is PM
Rahul Gandhi once again took a potshot at Narendra Modi on several issues ranging from development, women empowerment, religion and even surgical strike.
Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday once again took a potshot at Narendra Modi on several issues ranging from development, women empowerment, religion and even surgical strike. Starting with religion, Gandhi said, “What is the essence of Hinduism? What does the Gita say? That knowledge is with everybody, knowledge is all around you. Every living being has knowledge. Our PM says he is a Hindu but he doesn’t understand the foundation of Hinduism. What kind of a Hindu is he?” Gandhi was interacting with members of the business community and professionals in Udaipur earlier today. Further in his interaction, the AICC chief also alleged that PM Modi does not listen to anyone and takes the decision on his own. “PM believes that he knows best about everything and that the world’s knowledge comes from his brain only,” he said.
Gandhi also questioned PM Modi and Bharatiya Jatana Party (BJP)-led Central government over the surgical strike that happened in 2016. “Government had turned a military asset into a political asset to benefit itself during the Uttar Pradesh elections,” he said adding it was not only BJP government which did surgical strike. “Surgical strikes had been carried out during Manmohan Singh’s tenure as well but it was kept secret as per Army’s request.
Gandhi went on to speak about educational facilities provided by Modi government, “Government has provided people with health insurance but there are no public sector hospitals to avail those facilities. The government does not allocate enough funds to the public sector care centre and public sector educational institutions.”
Gandhi also spoke about women’s safety and women empowerment and said that the Centre wasn’t doing enough to empower women. “Without empowering women, we are wasting our time. Women have certain unique attributes that men do not have and vice versa. They are more caring in nature, it is essential that women be seen in power, even in the Parliament,” he said.
After his Udaipur visit, Gandhi is likely to go to Chittorgarh and Bhilwara. The AICC president visited Ajmer dargah and Pushkar and addressed rallies at Jaisalmer, Jalore and Jodhpur on Monday. Rajasthan is going to poll on December 7.
