The BJP is trying to make inroads in the Union Territory. Three out of the five resigned Congress MLA’s have joined the BJP and the party is looking to consolidate its power in the south as well. Alliance with NR Congress is still not confirmed news. BJP will contest the elections in alliance with the AIADMK.

The Congress on the other hand will yet again go in the election under the leadership of V Narayanasamy. They will be in alliance with the DMK. The seat-sharing formula is not yet known.
