Protest Outside Kejriwal's Residence Over Tajinder Bagga's Arrest. AAP Says BJP Protecting Goons
A day after the incident, the Delhi Police said that it will make necessary security arrangements for Bagga after the latter expressed concern over his safety.
New Delhi: A day after Delhi’s BJP spokesperson Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga was arrested by Punjab Police, the saffron party, upping the ante, staged a protest outside the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday. Bagga reached his house in the national capital on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. According to police sources, they had provided security outside Kejriwal’s house in anticipation of an agitation.
As per reports, BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa was detained during the protest. Visuals show several saffron party workers, surrounded by police barricades, hurling slogans outside Kejriwal's residence.
After the BJP accused Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of using the Punjab Police to target the political rivals and critics of Kejriwal, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia tweeted in Hindi, "The entire BJP and its governments are engaged in saving one of their goons who spoke against the brotherhood in Punjab and incited riots. The BJP is a party of goons which makes even its government do the job of goons. Never even by mistake, these people talk about education, health, inflation and unemployment.”

Notably, Bagga was arrested by the Punjab Police from his home in the national capital, stopped in Haryana while being taken to Punjab and then brought back to Delhi by the Delhi Police hours later.
Refuting BJP’s allegation of ‘abducting’ a leader who has been vocal against Delhi CM Kejriwal, AAP said that Bagga was arrested for allegedly stoking communal tensions in Punjab.
A day after the incident, the Delhi Police said that it will make necessary security arrangements for Bagga after the latter expressed concern over his safety.
